Job Description
The System Quality Engineer's responsibility will be to monitor, maintain and revise the project audit schedule of the company, plan and participate in the undertaking of project quality system and process audits.
He will also manage the compilation of the audit reports and where required, manage and monitor the corrective action requests, monitor the close out of the audits and required corrective actions as well as provide the Project Quality Manager with a monthly summary of project audit activities.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
To plan and implement NDE operations within the project, this shall include radiographic inspection, ultrasonic inspection, magnetic particle inspection, liquid Penetrant inspection, eddy current inspection, ferrite inspection and PMI and shall assess the proposed NDE processes and provide evaluation of results.
Plan, implement and participate in Pre Manufacturing meetings across the project and ensure contract requirements are cascaded through to the sub contractor / supplier.
Ensure all non-conformances within product and service are managed in accordance with project procedures, maintain the non conformance data base and provide the Project Quality Manager with a weekly summary of project non conformance activity.
To establish and maintain the NDE data base, this data base shall record and monitor NDE operative certification and re-certification throughout the project.
In conjunction with the Project Quality Manager, he will co-ordinate surveillance / inspection on product and process to ensure contractual compliance by the management
To participate in FAT, EFAT and SIT’s within the project and to provide verification of equipment conformity to procedure conditions
To establish and maintain a data base register of Manufacturing Record Books for the project and to provide weekly status reports as to the overall project progress for MRBs.
To compile MRBs for the project in accordance with company’s Project requirements for structure, content and format, this shall be applicable for both hard copies and for electronic copies.
Qualifications and Experience
B.Sc in Engineering, Material Science or a related field
At least 5 years experience in Oil & gas engineering and construction industry preferably on Subsea systems projects for Engineering, Production and Construction (EPC) contracts
Good Knowledge of government and industry quality assurance, product, service codes and standards. This shall include knowledge of API 6A, API 17D and the realted ASTM/ISO procedures and specifications
Recognised qualification in NDE (ASNT/PCN), preferably a Level II or III qualification and a minimum of Level II for radiographic interpretation of welds and forgings
Must be well grounded in the operational philosophy of subsea production equipment and the running and installation of subsea equipment
Excellent manufacturing process knowledge of subsea system equipment including dimensional / feature inspection, non destructive testing (surface and volumetric NDT with special emphasis on radiographic inspection of pressure containing fabrication welds)
Should be very competent in welding (pressure containing fabrication, weld clad and structural welding), pressure testing and paint systems (inspection of prepared surfaces and the inspection of final coatings)
High proficiency in MS Office applications(especially Microsoft Access)
Must be team oriented and outgoing (as this role will require a lot of travelling)
