1.)  FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY

(i) DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY

LECTURER I/II
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Forage Agronomy
Applicants should possess first degree in Agriculture in the general area of Forage Agronomy, the Production and Management of Forage Crops/Plant Breeding.
A Ph.D degree with specialization in Forage Crops Breeding is also acceptable. Evidence of scholarly publications will be an added advantage.

LECTURER I
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Farming Systems
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in Field Crops Production with at least three years teaching experience at the University level or at least three years working experience in a relevant Research Station. Publications in reputable journals will be an added advantage.

LECTURER II
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Farming Systems
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in Field Crops Production from a recognized University.
Applicants with a good knowledge of Statistics and computer skills will be given preference.

LECTURER I
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Horticulture (Pomology)
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in Agronomy/Crop Production. In addition, applicants must have at least three years post-qualification teaching experience at the University level. Adequate number of published articles in reputable Journals will be an added advantage.

LECTURER II
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Horticulture (Pomology)
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in Agronomy/Crop Production with a bias in Fruit Tree Crop Production. Evidence of publications in reputable Journals will be an added advantage.

(ii) DEPARTMENT OF CROP PROTECTION AND ENVIRONMENTAL BIOLOGY

LECTURER I
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: PLANT PATHOLOGY (Bacteriology/Mycology)
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in Plant Pathology with specialization in either Bacteriology or Mycology or both. Applicants must have at least three years post-qualification teaching/research experience in a University Research Institute. Candidates must also have adequate publications in reputable academic Journals.

(iii) DEPARTMENT OF FOREST RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

LECTURER II
Applicants should possess good First Degree in Forest Resources Management as well as Ph.D in Forest Biology and Silviculture with competence in Ecology and Tree Physiology. Applicants must have at least one year Post-Ph. D qualification experience with relevant publications.

(iv) DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE AND FISHERIES MANAGEMENT

ASSISTANT LECTURER
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Ecotourism Management Wildlife Genetics
Applicants should possess B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Wildlife Management with specialization in Ecotourism Management and/or Wildlife Genetics.

(ii) DEPARTMENT OF LINGUISTICSAND AFRICAN LANGUAGES

ASSISTANT LECTURER
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Yoruba Syntax
Applicants should possess M.A. or M.Phil degree in Linguistics or Yoruba Language with specialization in Yoruba Syntax from a recognized University. Applicants must also be able to show evidence of registration for a Ph.D programme. Aminimum of 1-2 years teaching experience in a relevant discipline/subject in a Tertiary Institution will be an added advantage.

ASSISTANT LECTURER
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: lgbo Linguistics
Applicants should possess M .A. or M.Ph il degree in Linguistics with specialization in lgbo Syntax from a recognized University. The candidate must also be able to show evidence of registration for a Ph.D programme. A minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience in a relevant discipline/subject in a Tertiary Institution will be an added advantage.

AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: lgbo Linguistics
Applicants should possess Ph.D in Linguistics with specialization in lgbo Syntax from a recognized University. A minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience in a Tertiary Institution will be an added advantage.


3.) COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY

LECTURER I
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Neurological Surgery
Applicants should possess medical qualification registrable with the Medical and
Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), Fellowship of the West African College of
Surgeons (FWACS) or its equivalent in Neurological Surgery.
Evidence of Exposure to modern Neurological Surgery systems and methods, experience in Undergraduate and Post-graduate teaching, evidence of interest in research and scientific activities, experience in leadership, management or administration roles and activities will be of great advantage.
Successful candidates with adequate clinical experience may be appointed Consultants to the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

LECTURER II
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Neurological Surgery
Applicants should possess medical qualification registrable with the Medical and
Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), PART I of the Fellowship of the West African
College of Surgeons (FWACS) or its equivalent, satisfactory Senior Residency
records in Neurological Surgery for at least two years.
Evidence of involvement in research and scientific activities as well as satisfactory records of operative and other academic activities will be of great advantage.


4.)  FACULTY OF EDUCATION

(i) DEPARTMENT OF ADULT EDUCATION

ASSISTANT LECTURER
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Philosophy of Adult Education
Applicants must possess B.A. degree in Philosophy, M,Ed inAdult Education with an approval of the Ph.D Registration Title in Philosophy of Adult Education. Evidence of teaching experience in a recognized University for least three (3) years is of paramount advantage.
Applicants for this position should have at one time or the other served as Research Assistant in the Department of Adult Education of the University of lbadan.

LECTURER II
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Community Development / Psychology of Adult Education
Applicants must possess B.Ed Degree in Education, M.Ed in Guidance and Counselling (Psychological Foundation) and Ph.D in Community Development.
OR
Proof of scholarly publications in reputable journals will be an added advantage while evidence of teaching experience in a recognized University is of paramount advantage.
Applicants for this position must have their Ph.D thesis written on the
evaluation of community development programmes of oil companies in
Nigeria.

(ii) DEPARTMENT OF LIBRARY ARCHIVAL AND INFORMATION STUDIES

LECTURER I
Applicants must possess Master and Ph.D degrees in Library Science,
Archives and Records Management or Information Science from a recognized university. In addition, candidates should have previous teaching and/or research experiences at the University level.
Adequate publications in reputable academic journals in the area of specialization are required.
Applicants who can teach Information Technology courses will be given preference.

(iii) DEPARTMENT OF SPECIAL EDUCATION

LECTURER I/II
AREAOF SPECIALIZATION: Learning Disabilities
Applicants must possess Ph.D in the field of Learning Disabilities.
Applicants for the post of Lecturer I must show evidence of scholarly
publications in reputable journals within and outside Nigeria and have at least
three (3) years teaching experience at the University level.

LECTURER I/II
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Mental Retardation
Applicants must possess Ph.D in the field of Mental Retardation.
Applicants for the post of Lecturer I must show evidence of Scholarly
publications in reputable journals within and outside Nigeria with at least three
(3) years experience at the University level.


5.)  FACULTY OF PHARMACY

DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACEUTICAL MICROBIOLOGY

LECTURER I
Applicants should possess M.Sc. and Ph.D Degrees in Pharmaceutical Microbiology (or Pharmaceutics with an option in Pharmaceutical Microbiology). Holders of M.Sc, with evidence of current registration for a Ph.D programme will be considered. In each case, interest in Molecular BiologyNirology and relevant teaching experience of at least 3 years in a recognized university are required as well as academic publications in learned journals. Registration with the Pharmacists’ Council of Nigeria is mandatory.

6.)  FACULTY OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCES

DEPARTMENT OF URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

AREA OF SPECIALIZATION
(i) Environmental Planning and Management
(ii) Landuse Planning and Administration
(iii) Recreation Planning
(iv) Computer Aided Design
Applicants should hold MURP/M.Sc, degree in Urban and Regional Planning and be registered or registerable with the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) and the Town Planners Registration Council (TOPREC),
Applicants should also hold Ph.D degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Previous teaching experience at the University level will be an advantage.


7.)   FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE

DEPARTMENT OF VETERINARY MEDICINE

SENIOR LECTURER
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Ruminant Medicine
Applicants should also have a minimum of nine years practical experience in Small
and Large Animal, Poultry, Aquatic and Wildlife Medicine as well as Animal Management.
In addition, applicants must be able to rotate through any of the Units named above whenever required.
There should be evidence of leadership in Research and at least ten (10> scholarly
publications in peer-reviewed and reputable journals.


8.)   INSTITUTE OF AFRICAN STUDIES

SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW / RESEARCH FELLOW I
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Religion and Belief System
Applicants should possess Ph.D degree in Religious Studies or related discipline and must have published substantially in reputable journals on issues relating to African Religions or Traditional Medicine.

SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW / RESEARCH FELLOW I
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Security Studies
Applicants should possess good PhD degree in Peace and Conflict Studies or
related discipline and must have published substantially in reputable journals on
issues relating to National/International Security in Africa.

SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW / RESEARCH FELLOW I
AREA OF SPECIALIZATION: Gender and Peace Building
Applicants should possess a good Ph.D degree in Peace and Conflict Studies or related discipline and must have published substantially in reputable journals on issues relating to Gender and Peace Building most especially in Africa.


CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The appointments, which are to commence as soon as possible, are for three years initially. They may be extended for specific periods or confirmed to retiring age.
Fringe benefits include a Pension Scheme or comparable arrangement as may be approved from time to time by the University Council, residential accommodation or housing allowance at an approved rate and passages for approved Overseas Study Leave.
