Solidarites International (SI) has started activities in North-eastern Nigeria in August 2016 in the fields of Wash and is now intervening in 4 areas of the state for Wash and Shelter activities
We are recruiting to fill the position bellow:
Job Title: Community Mobiliser
Location: Monguno, (Borno State) with movements inside the state
Probationary Period: 1 month
Contract Duration: 6 months, subject to renewal upon available donor funding.

Goal / Purpose
The Community Mobilizer is in charge of creating awareness of the Solidarités International programs throughout targeted communities.
He/she participates in the collection of data, mapping and general information on communities and in the identification of the beneficiaries within the communities
Organization, support and follow-up on committees formed and/or supported through SI’s activities.
Organization and animation of Focus Group Discussions
He/she participates in monitoring the implemented activities and assessing new needs
The community mobilizer could be asked to take part to training or distribution activities.
Main Task
Evaluation / assessment:
Help in setting up criteria for selecting beneficiaries
Identification of target groups through the communities (women, vulnerable…)
Collect accurate data’s at the community level
Assist in conducting baseline surveys
Report any emerging needs to the his/her line manager
Organize and liaise with committees or any other community association
Communication / Representation:
Mobilize the targeted communities and create awareness about the program activities
Listen to complains from the different groups of the communities
Collect relevant information (contacts, data and mapping) on the communities
Mitigate problem between communities when it arises
Analyze actions to be done to avoid any security accident at community level
Give support for all Solidarités International activities for community mobilization and communication with local authorities, site and village leaders
Implementation and Operational Monitoring:
Monitor the implemented activities at the community level by onsite regular visits
Sensitization and training of the beneficiaries (if requested by the Program Manager)
Follow activities implemented by other organizations in Solidarités International’s area of intervention and report to the Program Manager or his/her assistant
Assist in conducting monitoring surveys to control progress of program and efficiency of activities
Reporting:
Share with his/her line manager all information about security, activities, logistics or administrative issues occurred at field level
Participate in the preparation of the regular program reports
Participate to the general program meetings (weekly, monthly…)
Communicate orally about any important issue in internal staff meetings
Technical Competences
University degree
Minimum 3 years of working experience in similar activities
Good Knowledge in Computer Office package, also fluent in English and local language.
Personal Abilities:
Ability to work under pressure and emergency
Flair for challenges and High sense of responsibilities
Ability to work in distance
