Job Title: Group Head, Human Capital Management & Development
The Bank is seeking applications from suitably qualified and highly competent individuals with the right skills set and pedigree to fill the following key position.
The search is open to both internal and external candidates who possess very deep strategic insight coupled with excellent technical knowledge, practical hands-on experience, vast exposure and good track record of success and achievements. Such individuals must have sound knowledge of the Nigerian Labour Laws and Global Human Resource best practices with good understanding of macro-economic dynamics and how they impact the financial services sector. Must be able to handle the people management function in its entirety.
Successful candidates must be matured, self-driven, very energetic, highly resourceful and versatile with exceptional leadership capabilities. Specific responsibilities and requirements for the role is as follows:
Reporting to the MD/CEO, the ideal candidate will provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the Group Human Resources function including Talent Management (talent acquisition, learning and development, performance management, succession management, diversity and inclusion), Organizational Effectiveness, Workplace Policies and Practices, Compensation/Total Rewards Systems, HR Shared Services, HRIS, Labour and Employee Relations.
Othere Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership in the development and execution of Human Resource strategies that align with and support the overall strategic direction of the Group; translate business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
Institute HR objectives that will enhance a high performance culture that emphasises empowerment, quality, productivity and continuous development of a superior workforce.
Execute Group Shared Services and Centers of Excellence (CoE) strategies to ensure alignment of HR practice across the Group
Develop progressive and proactive division specific compensation and total rewards programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance.
Provide overall leadership for First Academy to ensure that learning and development platforms and resources are in alignment with business imperatives.
Develop, direct and monitor the Learning and Development process and activities so as to build capacity for the Bank to deliver on its products and services.
Serve as strategic business advisor to executive leadership team and other senior executives.
Partner with business and other key stakeholders to deliver Diversity and Inclusion strategies that drive business results.
Enhance and/or develop, implement and deploy Human Resources systems, policies and practices that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the business.
Develop, implement and maintain Employee Relations policies in conjunction with the Board and the Top Management team so as to ensure compliance with the Bank’s core values and existing Labour legislations.
Manage budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources Department.
Provide vision, leadership, direction and guidance to the Human Resources department.
Qualifications
1st Degree in any discipline (minimum of Second Class Lower division/Upper Credit).
Professional HR Certification is compulsory (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria), MBA or other Master’s degree and additional HR certification would be an added advantage.
Fifteen (15) years’ experience with at least eight (8) years in senior management roles in HR.
Ability to pull off a delicate balance between advocating HR concerns and enforcing top management policies.
Solid understanding of the Nigerian and global labour laws and how they impact the sector.
Demonstrable hands-on experience in development and delivery of HR operational strategy models, and linkage with corporate strategy in a large commercial bank will be a distinct advantage.
Strong quantitative and analytic skills; and understanding of specialized industry issues.
Excellent leadership qualities and experience in general administration management roles with track record of achievement and results.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, persuasive, documentation, analytical and negotiation skills.
Highly developed influencing skills, capable of communicating the big picture in approachable language.
