Job Description
The Senior Finishing Manager will be responsible for managing the entire fit-out of an ongoing world class high rise building construction project.
The project is the only mixed-use development of its kind in West Africa, located in Nigeria.
Objectives & Core Requirements:
The Finishing Manager will be supporting the Project Manager on site and will be involved mainly with the finishing, snagging and quality control.
He needs to have a keen eye for detail and someone who takes pride in working with very high spec finishes.
He also needs to have a strong presence on site and be an experienced manager of all finishing trades and subcontractors pushing the job towards deadline.
Duties & Responsibilities
Promote, supervise and control all matters connected with the finishing works of the Project.
Ensure that Contractors contractual obligations are met in time and to the quality requirements of the project
Liaise with the project planning team for schedules of finishing work.
To be fully conversant with contract documents - Technical specs, Contract conditions, Drawings, BOQ.
Schedule approvals for drawings, materials, methodology, mock-ups etc to facilitate proper execution of finishes.
Oversee quality of materials procured, material management & reconciliation
Setting up work procedures, check lists, protocols, resolving discrepancies
Team management - assigning tasks & monitoring
Coordination with related trades & services
Adhere to targets on Safety, Time, Cost & above all Quality Control
Target on innovations, avoid reworks & revisits, wastage control, Good house keeping
Inputs to project planning team on revisions, changes affecting cost & time schedule
Snags and Non Conformity Reports (NCR) Attendance & rectification
Handing over & contract closure formalities
Monthly and weekly progress reports
Any other related duties as Management may require from time to time.
Other Requirements
Experienced National or Expatriate in building construction finishes
An Engineering Degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Building Systems Engineering).
Trade background, with minimum 10 years experience as a Finishing Foreperson / Manager.
Experience in achieving high quality finishes and completion of large multi occupancy buildings
Experience of managing and co-ordinating sub contract trades, including specialist installations.
Excellent planning and communication skills
Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
Understanding of M&E Installations
Organised, structured and professional manner.
Passion to ensure that all aspects of their work are done to an excellent standard.

Strong team player and good communicator
Drive and an ambition to succeed within a team environment
Self-motivated and capable of working alone in a high pressure environment
