Job description
The Lead Planning Engineer will have the responsibility of developing and ensuring that structured, consistent and accurate project planning, scheduling and reporting for significant fabrication facilities projects, championing methodologies with creation of supporting procedures, maximising the use and integration of planning, scheduling and reporting systems. He/she is to report to the Senior Projects Controls Manager
Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this office shall include but is not limited to the following:
- The Lead Planning Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining of project planning tools for tracking and analysis of progress against agreed baseline schedules, comparing the actual data with the base line data and analysis in order to provide guidance to project team
- Pro-active problem solving approach including Project Control System for engineering and procurement progress tracking, Project Control System for construction contractor progress tracking, contractor detailed schedules
- Provision of Project/Construction Engineers support during proposals/ bid periods for engineering/ construction work, Working with the Project Controls Department for evaluation and engineering/ construction proposals
- Development and maintenance of historical data of engineering/construction norms for use in bid proposals and future bench marking initiatives
- Coordination of the day to day planning, scheduling, and reporting within the Company
- Assisting in the supervision and mentoring of the planning team in their development and training
- Coordination and supervision of the job duties carried out by the planning team
- Coordination of development, update and maintenance of detailed plans of the Company work scope to include all required phases of work
- Assisting and facilitation risk management workshops as required
Qualifications and Experience
- University degree in Agricultural studies preferably livestock, Animal Nutrition or Veterinary Science
- Possess at least twelve years experience in Facilities engineering in a planning role within the Oil and Gas Industry
- Must have extensive experience in Primavera and schedule management systems and building integrated systems
- Must have significant experience in recovery planning with inclusion of change management work scopes
- Must be competent in Microsoft Office tools i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel & Power point
- Must have strong fluency in both written and spoken English Language
- Must be able to multitask
- Must have strong people skills eliciting the respect of his/her subordinates
